Here in Melbourne, Mandarin is the most commonly spoken second language at home due to our large Chinese community with its own unique cultural and language needs.

At Kimmba, we saw a very real need for a dedicated Chinese Australian Early Childhood Centre in Melbourne.

Our early learning centre offers a safe, inclusive environment for your child to learn Mandarin and English through our Chinese bilingual program.

Kimmba’s programs immerse children in the language through play, so that the language is learned naturally and fluently. Most importantly, the children enjoy their sessions and it provides them with an opportunity to make friends of all different culture and language backgrounds.

As a small centre we’re able to give your child the time and attention they need for healthy, optimal learning and brain development. We also encourage and offer them early exposure to different cultures, an essential part of living in a multicultural society.

Our programs are ideal for parents who would like their children to grow up speaking and understanding Mandarin, while addressing their English learning needs as well, meaning that your child will be able to confidently communicate in the home and at school.

Here at Kimmba we incorporate the Reggio Emilia teaching theory with Dr H. Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences philosophy and teaching methods into our innovative bilingual educational program. Children with bilingual backgrounds are more likely to succeed in future academic studies but also develop into sociable and well-balanced, adjusted individuals.

We’ve been featured in the media for our anti-bullying practices, which we believe starts in kindergarten. Our programs emphasise inclusion, so that your child can learn and grow in a safe environment while learning respect for others.
